Evaluation: Judge Yvette Gonzales received positive scores from attorneys. Attorneys rated Judge Gonzales quite positively for treating pro se (self-represented) parties fairly, being able to decisively rule on procedural and substantive matters, being prepared for court proceedings, being attentive to the proceedings, and ensuring her personal staff is professional, productive, and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures. Similarly, court staff rated Judge Gonzales positively in all categories. Resource staff (e.g., law enforcement, probation/parole, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.) also rated Judge Gonzales quite positively in all categories, including conducting court proceedings without favoritism, performing duties fairly and impartially, and being attentive to the proceedings. Experience & Education: Judge Yvette Gonzales was appointed as a Metro Court judge in June of 2010 and was elected later that year. Prior to her appointment, she worked at the State Bar of New Mexico and as an Assistant District Attorney in the Second Judicial District. Judge Gonzales received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico in 1994, and she received her law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1997.
