Evaluation: Judge Jeffrey Shannon has served the Eighth Judicial District since 2019. This is Judge Shannon’s first evaluation. He received positive scores from attorneys for being attentive to the proceedings, maintaining proper control over proceedings, being courteous to all participants, and for ensuring his personal staff is professional, productive, and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures. In addition, Judge Shannon was rated positively by court staff, resource staff (e.g., law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.), and jurors on all attributes. Judge Jeffrey Shannon has challenged himself to increase his knowledge of civil law and to actively work toward helping juveniles within his district.

Experience & Education: Judge Jeffrey Shannon was appointed to the bench in 2019 and subsequently elected in November 2020. Prior to his judicial appointment, he worked as a public defender and in private practice. Judge Shannon graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery with a B.A. in 1991, from the University of Alabama with an M.A. in 1993, and the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1999.
