Experience & Education: Judge David Murphy was appointed and elected to the Second Judicial District Court in 2022, where he is assigned to the Criminal Division. Judge Murphy presides over the Veterans Treatment Court program and is Chair of the Commission on Equity & Justice. Prior to his appointment, Judge Murphy was a Metropolitan Court Judge from 2019-2022. In his career as an attorney, he worked as a prosecutor for the District Attorney’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office. He received both his bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico.
