Evaluation: Judge Shannon Murdock-Poff received positive ratings from all populations surveyed. For example, attorneys rated the judge positively for conducting herself in a manner free from arrogance, being courteous to all participants, being attentive to the proceedings, and for ensuring her staff is professional, productive, and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures. Court staff, resource staff (e.g. law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.), and jurors also rated Judge Shannon Murdock-Poff positively in all areas.

Experience & Education: Judge Shannon Murdock-Poff was appointed as a District Court Judge in July of 2017 and elected in November of 2018. Prior to her appointment, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in both the Second and Seventh District Attorney’s Offices, worked as a prosecutor for the NM Attorney General’s Office, and served as general counsel for the Livestock Board. Judge Murdock-Poff graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics, and, in 2003, she received her Juris Doctor from University of New Mexico School of Law.
