Evaluation: Judge Brittany Maldonado Malott was rated quite positively by attorneys and court staff. Experience & Education: Judge Brittany Maldonado Malott has undergraduate and law degrees from the University of New Mexico. She worked for the Law Office of the Public Defender from 2013 until her appointment to the bench in February 2019 and subsequent election to the seat in 2020. She presides over specialty courts including Behavioral Health Court and Behavioral Health DWI Court. In 2021, she created a program to help certain low level defendants with mental health needs to connect to community providers.
