Evaluation: Judge Lee A. Kirksey received quite positive ratings from attorneys and resource staff (e.g., law enforcement, probation and parole officers, interpreters, etc.) on all attributes. For example, attorneys rated her highly for being courteous to all participants, demonstrating appropriate demeanor on the bench, and for maintaining proper control over the proceedings. Court staff rated Judge Kirksey highly for behaving in a manner that encourages respect for the courts and for respecting all court employees regardless of their position. However, court staff rated her slightly lower when it comes to ensuring her personal staff is professional, productive and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures.

Experience & Education: Judge Lee A. Kirksey graduated from Angelo State University and received her law degree from Texas Tech University in 1999. She was appointed as a District Court Judge in October 2014 and was subsequently elected in November 2014. Prior to becoming a District Court Judge, Judge Kirksey practiced family and civil law. Judge Kirksey’s community involvement includes church, Special Olympics, Rules of Civil Procedure Committee, and the FosterEd Local Planning Committee.
