Evaluation: Judge Mary Rosner received generally positive ratings from both attorneys and court staff. Among attorneys, she was rated quite positively for ruling on motions or cases in a timely manner, punctuality in commencing proceedings, ensuring personal staff is professional, productive and knowledgeable, and for attentiveness to the proceedings. However, attorneys rated her somewhat lower when it comes to displaying fairness and impartiality toward each side of the case, treating all participants equally, and exercising sound legal reasoning. The court staff rated Judge Rosner positively on ensuring personal staff is professional, productive and knowledgeable. The resource staff (e.g., law enforcement, probation and parole officers, interpreters, etc.) rated her positively for being punctual in commencing proceedings and for promptness in scheduling hearings and trials. In her interview, Judge Rosner acknowledged that she continues to receive lower scores in certain areas of her performance and is working to improve in those areas.
Experience & Education: Judge Mary Rosner graduated from UNM and received her law degree from the UNM Law School in 1975. She was elected a District Court Judge in 2013. Judge Rosner is Board Certified in Family Law, and was a senior partner of Rosner and Chavez from 2004-2009. Judge Rosner’s prior community involvement includes NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) in 2014.
