Experience & Education: Judge Manuel Arrieta graduated from New Mexico State University and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1984. He was appointed as a District Court Judge in 2009 and was subsequently elected in 2010. His colleagues elected Judge Arrieta Chief Judge in April 2019. Judge Arrieta’s prior community involvement includes Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Young Executives, Las Cruces Homeless Legal Clinic, Voter Protection, the New Mexico High School Mock Trial Program, and the Hispanic Bar Association.
