Evaluation: Judge Lang received favorable ratings from all groups participating in this evaluation. Specific areas of strength include his docket management and overall judicial performance. Judge Lang pointed out that he personally reviews each request for setting. After this review, he sets strict limits on the time allotted each hearing, a process which may contribute to his high ratings for docket management. This evaluation did not reveal any specific areas of weakness. Judge Lang is committed to overall goals of ongoing self-improvement.
Experience & Education: Judge Lang has served as a District Judge since January of 1994. He served in the Family Law Division until 1997, when he moved to the Civil Division. Prior to his appointment to the Second Judicial District, he served as a Metropolitan Court Judge. Judge Lang was awarded the Outstanding Judge Award from the Albuquerque Bar Association, as well the Judicial Recognition Award from the American Bar Association Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs, in 1999. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of New Mexico.
