The Honorable

Jennifer Ellen DeLaney

District Court Judge
6th Judicial District
Grant, Hidalgo, and Luna Counties

Year: 2014

Recommendation: Insufficient time in current position to evaluate.

Election Results: Retained

Evaluation: The Rules Governing the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission allow for an evaluation of a judge only if a judge has served at least two years in the current position or has sufficient data to achieve a statistically valid sample. Judge Jennifer DeLaney has served on the Sixth Judicial District Court since January 2013, which does not allow enough time or sufficient data for the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission to evaluate her prior to the November 2014 election.

Experience & Education: Judge Jennifer DeLaney was elected in 2012. Prior to being elected, she served as the Sixth Judicial District Court's Special Master. Judge DeLaney currently serves as the Chair of the Board for the Luna County Juvenile Justice Continuum of Services, Chair of the Board for Southwestern Regional Housing and Community Development Corporation, and she has been involved in a variety of other community activities. She received her undergraduate degree from Eckerd College, and her law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark in 2002 with honors.
