Evaluation: Judge Manuel Arrieta received positive scores from all groups surveyed. For example, attorneys rated him highly for demonstrating appropriate demeanor on the bench, being courteous to all participants, and being attentive to the proceedings. Court staff rated Judge Arrieta positively on all attributes. He was rated quite positively by resource staff (e.g., law enforcement, probation and parole officers, interpreters, etc.) for being courteous to all participants and behaving in a manner that encourages respect for the courts.

Experience & Education: Judge Arrieta graduated from New Mexico State University and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1984. He was appointed as District Judge in 2009 and subsequently elected in 2010. Judge Arrieta’s community involvement includes Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Young Executives, Las Cruces Homeless Legal Clinic, Voter Protection and New Mexico High School Mock Trial Program. He is currently a member of the Hispanic Bar Association.
