Evaluation: Judge Stanley Whitaker received high scores from attorneys, court staff and resource staff (e.g. law enforcement, probation officers and social workers). Among attorneys, he received high scores for conducting himself in a proper manner, for being courteous to all participants, for his punctuality, and for having a dignified demeanor. Among court staff, Judge Whitaker scored highly in the areas of respecting all court employees regardless of position, for respecting and cooperating with other judges, and for displaying a sense of fairness, impartiality and justice. The resource staff gave Judge Whitaker high scores for ruling on motions and cases in a timely manner, for conducting himself in a proper manner, and for treating all participants equally.

Experience & Education: Judge Whitaker was appointed District Judge in May 2006 and elected in November 2006. Prior to his appointment as District Judge, he served in the Second Judicial District as a prosecutor for three years, and as Special Commissioner for Domestic Violence for six years. He also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New Mexico for four years. Judge Whitaker received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his law degree from the University of New Mexico.
