Evaluation: Judge Davis received positive ratings from attorneys, court staff and resource staff (e.g. law enforcement officers, social workers, etc.). For example, attorneys rated him highly for his courteousness to all participants, treating self-represented litigants fairly, and for displaying a sense of fairness. The court staff rated Judge Davis highly for respecting and cooperating with other judges and for maintaining appropriate hours given the workload. The resource staff rated him highly for being attentive to the proceedings and for having a dignified demeanor.
Experience & Education: Judge Davis was appointed to the bench in August 2006 and elected in November 2006. He primarily handles a domestic relations caseload, as well as child abuse and neglect cases, a civil caseload and lower court appeals. Prior to his appointment, he was active in private practice for 21 years. Additionally, he has served as Rio Rancho Municipal Judge and as Special Commissioner for domestic violence, domestic relations and child support cases in the 13th Judicial District. Judge Davis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Albuquerque and law degree from the University of New Mexico.
