Evaluation: Judge Sarah V. Weaver received positive ratings from attorneys in every category of the survey. Attorneys rated her highly for being attentive to the proceedings, being punctual in commencing the proceedings, demonstrating appropriate demeanor on the bench, maintaining proper control over the proceedings, and ensuring her personal staff is professional, productive, and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures. In addition, the court staff and resource staff (e.g., law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.) rated Judge Weaver quite positively in all areas. Judge Weaver has demonstrated her dedication to being a judge through her hard work and is committed to continue working hard to become an even better jurist.

Experience & Education: Judge Sarah Weaver was appointed a District Court Judge in March 2018 and elected in November 2018. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and law degree from the UNM School of Law. Prior to the judge’s appointment to the district court bench, she was in private practice specializing in criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. She also served as Deputy and Chief Deputy District Attorney for the 11th Judicial District and served as an Assistant District Attorney, Senior Trial Prosecutor and Deputy District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District.
