Evaluation: JPEC could not conduct an evaluation and make a recommendation to voters because of the time frame of the evaluation, the rules governing JPEC’s evaluation process, and New Mexico legislation on judicial retention terms. This is no reflection on Judge Rudolfo’s performance.
Experience & Education: Judge Emeterio Rudolfo was appointed to the Second Judicial District Court in 2022 and elected to his current position later that year. Prior to his appointment, he handled criminal defense work at his own private practice for 25 years, after three years with the New Mexico Law Offices of the Public Defender. He served on the San Juan College Labor Relations Board and as a member of the New Mexico Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission. Judge Rudolfo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of New Mexico and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Judge Rudolfo recently completed the Judicial Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Law School and the General Jurisdiction course at the National Judicial College.
