Evaluation: Judge Lisa Riley scored positively among all the populations surveyed on every attribute. For example, attorneys rated her highly for being attentive to the proceedings, maintaining proper control over the proceedings, being courteous to all participants, being prompt in scheduling hearings and trials, and for ensuring her personal staff is professional, productive, and knowledgeable of court policies and procedures. In addition, the court staff and resource staff (e.g., law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.) rated her positively on all attributes. Judge Riley expressed a desire to continue to improve her scores and to strive to improve courtroom practices in the post-COVID era.
Experience & Education: Judge Lisa Riley was appointed to the bench in 2011 and elected in 2012. Prior to her judgeship, she worked as a Domestic Violence Hearing Officer. She also worked in private practice, specializing in civil, domestic, probate, and criminal cases. Judge Riley received her B.S. in Education from Texas Tech University in 1986 and her law degree from Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law in 1992.
