Evaluation: Judge Floripa Gallegos received high ratings among all groups surveyed. Attorneys and resource staff (e.g., law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.) rated her highly for being attentive to the proceedings, displaying familiarity with court cases through prior preparation, oral decisions/communications being clear and thorough, ruling on motions or cases in a timely manner, maintaining proper control over the proceedings, and being courteous to all participants. The court staff rated her highly for behaving in a manner that encourages respect for the courts and respecting court employees regardless of position. During her interview with the Commission, Judge Gallegos spoke about her dedication to the court and her desire to continue to serve her district by establishing more court programs to help the community.

Experience & Education: Judge Floripa Gallegos was appointed to the bench in 2018 and subsequently elected in November 2018. Prior to her judicial appointment, she worked in private practice, specializing in family, criminal, juvenile, guardianship, bankruptcy, and estate planning. Judge Gallegos graduated from New Mexico State University with a B.A. in 1990 and the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1995.
