Evaluation: Overall, Judge Benjamin Chavez had positive results. Experience & Education: Judge Benjamin Chavez was elected in 2012. He started his judicial career in 2004 when he was appointed to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court and served until he was elected to the District Court. In addition, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney, an Assistant City Attorney, and as a private attorney practicing both criminal and civil law. Judge Chavez received his undergraduate degree from UNM and his law degree from the UNM School of Law in 1996.
