Evaluation: The Rules Governing the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission allow for an evaluation of a judge only if a judge has served at least two years in the current position or has sufficient data to achieve a statistically valid sample. Judge Jeff McElroy has served on the Eighth Judicial District Court since December 2012, which does not allow enough time or sufficient data for the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission to evaluate him prior to the November 2014 election.
Experience & Education: Judge Jeff McElroy was elected in 2012. Prior to being elected, he worked as a deputy district attorney, nonprofit manager, assistant attorney general, and as a private civil attorney. Judge McElroy is currently the Chief Judge and the Juvenile Drug Court Judge of the Eighth Judicial District. Judge McElroy received his undergraduate degree from St. John's College and his law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1982.
