Judge Duran received mixed ratings in the areas of fairness and demeanor, with some respondents suggesting that the judge sometimes prejudges cases.

Experience & Education: Judge Duran was elected to the district judgeship in November 1996. Prior to this she worked for the Third District Court as a Child Support Hearing Officer, a Special Commissioner for Domestic Violence, and a Mediation Director. Judge Duran's community involvement includes making public presentations to various community and civic organizations and serving as a faculty member for New Mexico Continuing Legal Education. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of New Mexico.
