Evaluation: Judge Cynthia Fry received quite positive scores overall. Among attorneys, she received positive scores for demonstrating appropriate demeanor, timeliness in making rulings and rendering decisions, and conducting herself in a manner free from impropriety. Among court staff, Judge Fry was rated very highly for being a hard worker, exercising sound legal reasoning, and for effectively selecting, developing and supervising law clerks and paralegals. District judges and her fellow appellate judges rated her highly in all areas.

Experience & Education: Judge Fry received her law degree in 1981 at the University of New Mexico School of Law. She had extensive experience as a practicing lawyer prior to her seat on the New Mexico Court of Appeals on December 1, 2000. Judge Fry served on the Supreme Court's Appellate Rules Committee and as chair of the New Mexico State Bar Association's Appellate Practice Section. She is a member of the Children's Court Improvement Commission and the Council of Chief Judges of the State Courts of Appeals.
