The evaluation results indicate he is well regarded for his courtesy to all participants, punctuality in commencing proceedings, attentiveness to and maintaining proper control over the proceedings, ability to quickly and decisively rule on procedural and substantive matters, and his ability to rule on motions or cases in a timely manner. In addition, court staff rated him positively for maintaining appropriate hours given the workload and for respecting and cooperating with other judges.
Experience & Education: Judge Murphy has served as District Court Judge since July 2006 in the Domestic Division. Prior to this, he worked in private practice from 1976 until his appointment to the bench in 2006. Judge Murphy received his undergraduate degree from California State University in 1973 and his law degree from Pepperdine University in 1976.
