Evaluation: Judge Michael Aragon’s overall results are quite positive. He was rated highly by attorneys for treating all courtroom participants with respect, being attentive to the proceedings, maintaining professional demeanor in the courtroom, and for being prompt in scheduling hearings and trials. Court staff and jurors rated Judge Aragon highly in all categories. In addition, the resource staff (e.g. law enforcement officers, CASA volunteers, CYFD, interpreters, etc.) gave Judge Aragon positive ratings on all attributes.
Experience & Education: Judge Michael Aragon was appointed to the 4th Judicial District bench in 2021 and won election to that position in 2022. He graduated with a business management degree from New Mexico Highlands University in 1996 and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1999. After being admitted to the bar, Judge Aragon established his private practice, serving his community until 2021. He has been a member of the Board of Bar Examiners since 2022. From 2013 to 2021, Judge Aragon served as a member of the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission.
