Experience & Education: Judge Clara Moran was appointed to the District Court in July of 2020 and was elected in November of 2020. Prior to that, she served as the Chief Deputy Attorney General in Criminal Affairs from 2015 to 2020. She served as the Assistant Supervising Attorney in the 2nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office in the Gang Crimes Division from 2013 to 2014 and as Assistant District Attorney from 2005 to 2012. Judge Moran received her bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University in 2002 and her law degree from UNM School of Law in 2005.
