Experience & Education: Judge Kathleen McGarry Ellenwood was elected to district judgeship in 2020. Prior to being elected to the bench, she was a staff attorney at the First Judicial District from 2018 to 2020, contract attorney for the First Judicial District from 2015 to 2018, and worked in private practice from 2001 to 2018. She also worked at the Office of the Ohio Public Defender and the Supreme Court of Ohio. Judge McGarry Ellenwood received her undergraduate degree from Connecticut College in 1978 and her law degree from The Ohio State University in 1987.
